Athiriver Deputy County Commissioner Patrick Mwangi has urged parents of pupils who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) to ensure they take their children to high school in January to ensure 100 percent transition.

The DCC was speaking at St Paul’s Primary school in Athiriver Sub County on Friday, while giving food stuffs to the less fortunate where he cautioned parents on spending money during festive season at the expense of their children’s education in January.

“We are still insisting on 100 percent transition for KCPE students to join secondary schools and parents should prepare their children’s school fees as they start their festivities,” urged Mwangi.

He implored the Chiefs to be alert and to ensure that all KCPE students in their stations have reported to secondary school in January.

“The Chiefs should interact with the residents and make sure no child is left behind when joining secondary school,” added DCC.
