Champions League: Real Madrid, Manchester City draw

By Peter Ochieng

Real Madrid and Manchester City's chances of booking a Champions League final this season remain 50/50.

The two teams shared spoils on Tuesday night, during the first leg of the semi final, played at Real Madrid's home turf of Santiago Barnabeu, in Madrid, Spain.

Vinicius Junior and Kevin De Bruyne scored for Real Madrid and City respectively. Madrid, managed by Carlo Ancelotti is in the hunt for a record 15th Champions League title, while Pep Guardiola's Manchester City is seeking for the first title.

Ancelotti has won the title four times as Madrid and AC Milan manager, while Guardiola has enjoyed success twice during his formative years as Barcelona coach.

Addressing the press after the Tuesday encounter, Guadiola hit back at a reporter who said everyone expected City to destroy Madrid.

"Everyone thought we would see City destroy Real Madrid," claimed the reporter for beIN Sports.

"Who's everyone? Do you know who we are playing against? Do you know how many Champions League titles they [Real Madrid] have? It's not my fault you thought we would win 6-0," responded the Man City boss.

Ancelotti was booked during the tie and he said he didn't know why.

"I don't know why. I was not on the pitch. I think he could give a yellow card to the player not the manager."

The two sides clash again on Wednesday next week, with the winner booking the final.

Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan meet at Sansiro tonight for the first leg of the second semi final.
