Man arraigned for sodomy in Kakamega court

A 30-year-old man was on Monday arraigned in a Kakamega court for sodomising a 13-year-old boy.
The accused Fredrick Ongweno, who appeared before Chief Magistrate Linus Kassan was charged with unlawfully causing penetration to the anus of the minor contrary to the sexual offences act No 3 of 2006.
He allegedly committed the offence on May 4, 2023 at Shikhambi village, Shieywe location of Kakamega town.
Ongweno pleaded not guilty and the court remanded him in custody after he failed to raise a Sh 500, 000 bond.
The Magistrate ruled that the matter will be mentioned on May 22, 2023 while hearing will start on August 21, 2023.
