Turkana County Commissioner (CC) Jacob Ouma has challenged civil servants to enhance service delivery to citizens.

Speaking during the launch of the County Development and Implementation Committee (CDIC)in Lodwar attended by Heads of Departments, the CC said the government is keen in ensuring the services are taken to the grassroots in line with the government agenda.

"The government’s focus is to ensure that wananchi get value for money," Ouma said.

He also directed officers to be based in their duty stations instead of operating from the county headquarters yet they are stationed in the sub-counties.

"The reason why the government has posted officers including the national government administrators in all sub-counties is to ensure the services are moved closer to Wananchi, " he pointed out.

County director of delivery unit Martin Rotich who took the HODs through government priorities urged the officers to better their communication to enable the citizens to be aware of the government projects and programmes.

Rotich added the government was also keen on getting feedback from the members of the public on government development programmes.
