Coe re-elected as president of World Athletics
GENEVA, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) --
Sebastian Coe has been re-elected as the president of the World Athletics to serve his third term as the head of the world track-and-field governing body on Thursday.
Coe, 66, won an almost unanimous vote for the election at the World Athletics Congress, two days before the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The British sports official, who won two Olympic 1,500m gold medals in 1980 and 1984, was first elected as the president in 2015. This is also his final term.
Coe thanked the delegations after the re-election, and promised to shape the sport for a better development in the next four years.
