Convicted over defilement

 A man was today found guilty by a Loitoktok court for defiling a 17-year-old girl.

Mike Simon Jackson who appeared before Resident Magistrate Nelson Njuguna is said to have committed the heinous offense on August 7, 2023, at Kimana Township, Loitoktok Sub County.

According to the girl, she had visited her cousin and on the material day was left at home while her cousin together with her husband left home for Ukambani.

The girl later the same day paid a visit to the accused, her boyfriend, and had sex however a friend of the accused came to the house and found the two and assumed to have left only to return accompanied by the girl’s mother and her elder brother.

The two were escorted to Kimana police station where the accused was charged with defilement while the girl was taken to Loitoktok Sub County Hospital for medical examination.

In court, the accused denied committing the offence saying on the material day he was at his home together with his wife and child.

However, the court found the prosecution had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt hence the conviction.

The court set December 19 for sentencing.
