CS Oparanya praises Ruto for improving people's lives

Cooperative and SMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has praised the government for its efforts made in improving the lives of people.

Speaking to the Kakamega residents during President Ruto's development tour in Western region on Saturday, August 17, 2024, CS Oparanya said he is committed to supporting the government's agenda to ensure the cost of living is favorable to all Kenyans.

"This one week I have been with the government and I have seen that it has done a lot of things. You know I was outside, I didn't know what was inside but now I have come inside, I have seen what is there," he said.

In his capacity as Cooperatives CS, he promised to ensure his ministry is offering a significant solution to the unemployment issue. 

"Now I want to join the president to make progress here in the country and soon I will come here to tell you the ministry that he has given me that I am ready to help the people of Kakamega especially our many youths who are unemployed," said CS Oparanya.

He declared to the residents that he has shun politics for now and looks forward to working with the government to deliver to Kenyans.

"The people of Kakamega have agreed to unite with you to help build our country Kenya," Oparanya told President William Ruto who had accompanied him.

Oparanya was among the four Members of the ODM party in the Azimio la Umoja coalition who were nominated by President Ruto as Cabinet Secretaries. 

President Ruto has started his development tour in Western region, starting from Kakamega county to launch several development projects including Malava Water projects that was launched in Malava Constituency on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

The majority of leaders from Kakamega welcomed on Friday, August 16, 2024, welcomed President Ruto ahead of his tour in the region acknowledging the significance of the tour to the development of the region.

The leaders were Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, Malulu Injendi, David Ndakwa, Kevin Mahelo, Peter Wakukha, Peter Wanami, Geoffrey Sikolia and Keffa Musiya. 

Before Western tour, Ruto toured Kisii and Nyamira counties where he launched several projects such as Kisii Cancer Center. 

Since Ruto created a broad-based government, many Kenyans and leaders embraced the move thus making it easy for him to implement the government's agenda.
