By Julius Tuwei FORD-Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to avoid dividing Kenyans amid rising political temperatures in the country. Speaking in Busia on Monday, March 28, 2022, the Bungoma Senator claimed that as Head of State, President Kenyatta is a symbol of national Unity and his recent move to engage in divisive politics has tainted his image. "The presidency is a symbol of national unity, it's a unifying factor, but President Uhuru Kenyatta has decided to tarnish his image by involving himself in dirty politics," Senator Wetangula stated. He argued that if the information was indeed true, there would have been a proposer for the motion in parliament. "We want to ask our President if indeed your recent statement about impeachment was true, we didn't see it in Senate. Who was the one proposing the impeachment debate? You ought to come out clear," Wetangula added. The fallout between President Kenyatta and his Deputy has dominated news headlines recently, with Kenyans pointing an accusing finger at the two leaders for letting their differences spill into public. The Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by DP Ruto has not held back in calling out the head of state for betrayal. Uhuru and Ruto have publicly exchanged accusations, with the president recently alleging that his deputy had plotted to impeach him. While addressing members of the public in Kwale County on Monday, DP Ruto fired back at President Kenyatta telling him not to plant hatred and divisions among Kenyans.
