Every Kenyan will get acess to health insurance - President Ruto

President William Ruto has ensured that all Kenyans will acess medical health insurance under the newly launched Universal Health coverage. 

“For the first time, every Kenyan will have health insurance,” he said.

The president who attended a Sunday service marking the 30th anniversary of the African Inland Church (AIC) at Milimani branch, noted that the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA) under the UHC will provide equitable and inclusive coverage to all Kenyans. 

According to the Ministry of Health, The Government has already registered 12.8 Million Kenyans Under SHA which was officially launched on October 1st.

Under the new Coverage. The Sociol Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) has now replaced the Old National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). 

The government has also directed all hospitals to integrate the SHA into their systems and allow all patients to acess treatment through the new cover. 

President Ruto further thanked Religious institutions for supporting acess to healthcare for Kenyans.

“I want to thank faith-based institutions that run hospitals in Kenya for stepping forward and partnering with us,” he said.

He asked religious organizations to pray for his administration to deliver on it's promises to the Kenyan people.
