By Peter Ochieng Fuel supply in the Country will be stabilized in the next 72 hours, an equivalent of 3 days. Addressing Kenyans concerning fuel shortage that has now become a thorn in their flesh for over three weeks, Energy Cabinet Secretary (CS) Monica Juma, on Thursday, April 14, 2022 said all will be well in three days time. “We are taking measures to privilege the movement of fuel so that we can stock up across the country. We are going to allowed the movement of tankers on a privileged basis starting today and hope we can do this within the next 72 hours to stabilize the supply across the country,” she said. Her statement comes a day after the government ordered for deportation of Rubis Kenya Managing Director and CEO Jean-Christian Bergeron, over accusations of economic sabotage due to the ongoing fuel crisis in the Country. The French national was deported after President Uhuru Kenyatta held a meeting with CS Juma at State House Nairobi on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. During the meeting, sanctions against oil marketing companies complicit in creating an artificial fuel shortage in the country were recommended. Fuel shortage has caused an increase in price, with a litre of petrol going for over Sh200 in some parts of the Country.
