Nandi Governor Stephen Sang was forced to address demonstrating Gen-Zs who threatened to storm his office demanding explanation on how he has spent over sh50 billion during his seven years office time.

There was a standoff at the County Headquarters gate entrance between Gen-Zs and security offices when enraged youths demanded to speak to the Governor directly to present their petition.

In their petition, Gen-Zs gave Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission seven days ultimatum to investigate Governor Sang over they claimed as unmatched corruption in his government.

They claimed outrageous billions of shillings had been spent on the yet to be accomplished Mother and Baby Hospital, County Government Headquarters and Kabiyet Milk Processing Plant, including other unfinished projects.

Nandi Gen-Zs want their national share allocation auditing to be done to ascertain how their money has been spent.

In response, Sang said he can only account for development money but not salaries allocation that goes to staff accounts.

The youths also pointed out that the County maintained roads were pathetic despite millions of money being allocated every year.

They claimed locals were not feeling the value of their billions of shillings allocated every year from the national exchequer.

Gen-Zs in their petition decried corruption which ate into Governor Sang Government, even as hospitals across the county were without drugs, coupled with insufficient doctors, nurses and clinical officers.

Sang however said corruption allegations against his government are political because audit questions haven't found compelling evidence to have him out of office.

Gen-Zs presented their petition officially to Governor Sang and asked him to respond in seven days using County Social Media platforms.

Further, Gen-Zs revealed that county sports funds allocation was not helping Nandi youths develop their talents.

They said sports activities across the county were minimal due to poor funding of sports facilities and youth recreation areas.

According to them, Nandi was known to athletics and various other sports field events, but there was no modern stadium to enhance their talents.

The enraged youths claimed the county records showing construction of over 300 Early Childhood Education classrooms across the county was untrue.

Youths also faulted Governor Sang for failing to pay ECDE teachers as per their qualifications.

On ghost workers, the Gen-Zs want an independent, transparent head count of the entire county staff to deal with payroll ghost workers.

The Gen-Zs vowed to continue with their peaceful protest until the Governor satisfactorily answers their questions.

On his side, Sang asked the youths not to destroy property during their picketing as enshrined in the constitution.
