Government keen to combat Motor Vehicle robbery

Government intelligence agencies have tightened the grip in war against escalating cases of motor vehicle robbery in the country. 

There has been a recent spike in the robbery of cars from parking lots, residential areas and posh Estates across Nairobi and neighboring regions which has raised an alarm. 

However, moves to combat the crime have begun to bear fruits as detectives drawn from the Nairobi regional Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, Operations and DCI Kayole today mounted an intelligenceg-led operation that saw a prime suspect, Timothy Ndegwa, arrested at his residence in Thika Makongeni Estate on Friday. 

The calprit was interrogated and forced to tip off the officers in tbe whereabouts of his accomplice, George Kimani Wangechi,who was traced along Kenyatta Road in Juja. 

Kimani was arrested with a suspected stolen white Toyota Fielder fitted with registration plate nos. KCC 458K.

The operation saw three other suspects arrested in connection to the car robbery syndicate as two suspected stolen vehicles vehicles registered Isuzu DMAX and Toyota Corolla KBA 163Y were recovered and at detained at DCI offices.

Suspects Antony Wanjohi Theuri, Boniface Gitemengo Gachanji who was cornered and arrested within Githurai, Josphat Ikua Mwangi and Alois Tabu Ojiambo who was traced to and arrested at Kariobangi will join the other suspects awaiting to be arraigned in court as they are also interrogated to aid more recoveries.
