Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has officially launched The Presidential Directives Management Information System (PDMIS) and Foreign Travel Information Management System (FOTIMS), at The Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

PDMIS is a system that automates the dispatch and tracking of Presidential directives, ensuring not only their timely and effective implementation but also enhancing accountability to the citizens.

Notably, FOTIMS is an end-to-end automated system that streamlines the process of foreign travel clearance for senior Government officials all of whom require approval from the President through the Office of the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service.

The DP has recognized the two as critical systems that will enable the government deal with obscurity in decisions undertaken as raised by Kenyans recently.

"PDMIS plays a big role in dignifying our President William Ruto because it helps in tracking Directives issued and ensures expeditious implementation to the letter." Gachagua said.

Meanwhile, FOTIMS will enhance application, processing and approval of foreign travel for public servants and will offer enhanced insights and ensure secure, centralized management of travel data, revolutionizing how foreign travel is obtained and managed across government entities.

This will ensure prudent use of public resources and accountability for expenses incurred during the travels.

On her part, CS Ndung’u remarked that the launch of the two platforms is a profound affirmation of the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to the Government’s Digital Agenda.

The CS reiterated that MICDE remains steadfast in its collaboration with all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to deliver sector-specific core systems.

These systems also form a broader agenda of digital transformation in government. The new systems will enable the government to track and monitor the execution of presidential directives ensuring their implementation.

The function was attended by Attorney General Ms. Dorcas Oduor, SC, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Hon. Justin B. Muturi , Ms.Beatrice Askul Moe CS for East African Community Affairs, ASALs and Regional Development and H.E. Wycliffe Ambetsa Hon Wycliffe Oparanya CS for MSMEs and Cooperatives, among Principal Secretaries,CEOs among other senior government officials.
