Bungoma Governor, Kenneth Lusaka, has disparaged teenage pregnancies among school-going children in Bungoma.
In his address during the 2023 Mashujaa Day Celebrations at Ndivisi Primary School in Webuye East Constituency, Lusaka expressed uttermost concern over rising cases of teenage pregnancies in schools, warning that the perpetrators will face the full force of the law.
"It is disheartening to learn of the increasing numbers of teenage mothers, unfortunately, many of them being school-going children. Those culpable will face the law,” he said.
Lusaka called upon parents to discharge their stewardship roles, especially mentoring their children against vices, and asked them to be vigilant during school holidays.
"Take control of your children as schools break for the long festive holidays. It is your sole responsibility as parents," “he reiterated.
The function was attended by Deputy Governor, Janepher Mbatiany, Bungoma County Commissioner, Thomas Sankei, Webuye East M, Martin Wanyonyi, County Assembly Speaker, Emmanuel Situma, MCAs, CECMs, Senior County officials among others guests.
