Harambee Stars to feature in four Nation's tournament in Mauritius

The Kenya men's national team, Harambee Stars is set to take part in a four nation's tournament in Mauritius, next month.

The one week tournament will run from 11th to 18th June, 2023.

Besides hosts Mauritius and Kenya, other teams are Djibouti and Pakistan.

Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat will use the tournament to prepare his charges for upcoming CAF and FIFA assignments.

“This tournament offers us diversity in the opponents we shall face, especially at a time when most African nations are engaged in AFCON qualifiers,” said coach Firat, as quoted by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) website.

“Playing three matches gives me an opportunity to give more players a chance to show what they can offer," he added.

Harambee Stars players will hit camp on Monday, 5th June, 2023 to prepare for the tournament.

The team’s next competitive assignment will be the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, set to kick off between 13th November and 21st November, 2023.

The draw for the qualification stage will be conducted on 12th July 2023, in Cotonou, Benin.

Harambee Stars' last match was a friendly game against Iran in March.

Iran won 2-1.
