KBC to air AFCON matches

The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) will air all 52 matches of the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The soccer bonanza kicks-off tonight in Ivory Coast, with the final match set for 11th February, 2024. KBC has acquired free to air broadcast rights to transmit live all matches.
The contract signed with rights holders New World TV stipulates that the matches will be broadcast on KBC Channel 1 and Y254; on the corporation’s online platforms, and on all its 14 radio stations which include Radio Taifa and KBC English Service.
As part of the contract with New World TV, KBC will also broadcast other regional events over the next two years.
They include the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederations Cup, Women’s AFCON 2024, CAF Women’s Champions League 2024, CAF Beach Soccer Championships 2024, CHAN 2024 as well as qualifiers for the AFCON 2025.
Hosts Ivory Coast open their AFCON campaign tonight against Guinea Bissau in a group A encounter.
The match kicks-off at 11pm. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea are the other teams in group A.

Group A: Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau
Group B: Egypt, Mozambique, Ghana, Cape Verde
Group C: Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Cameroon
Group D: Algeria, Angola, Mauritania, Burkina Faso
Group E: Tunisia, Namibia, Mali, South Africa
Group F: Morocco, Tanzania, DRC, Zambia
