This year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) main examinations got off to a good start in Embu County where a total of 13, 805 candidates comprising 6, 807 boys and 6, 998 girls are expected to sit for the examinations.

The exams will be administered in 208 centers including 193 public secondary schools and 15 private centers according to County Education Director Kipruto Kosgei.

Speaking while overseeing the opening of the examination container and distribution of materials for the Embu West Sub- County, Kosgei said they were keen on delivering credible examinations devoid of all forms of malpractices.

“We have adequately briefed all the teams involved and we expect total compliance with examination regulations from students, teachers and center managers,” he said.

As the rains continue pounding, the director said they had put in place contingency measures to ensure materials arrive on time.

He also said security had been beefed up in all examination centers to ensure smooth running of the exercise.

The event was overseen by Ministry of Education Special Needs Education Director Fredrick Haga.
