Kenya faces Angola for FIFA U20 Women World Cup Qualifier

Starlets, the Kenya Women’s U20 National team, is set to face Angola team in the first leg of the second round of the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced that it has waived gate charges for the match that kicks off at 3pm in a bid to rally support towards the Starlets’ second ever World Cup bid.
“Gates will be open to the public starting at 10am. Women clubs, schools, youth academies and branch teams are also invited to the match,” announced FKF.
In a press statement to the newsrooms, FKF said the Angola team is expected to arrive in Nairobi on Friday, October 6, 2023 for the match.
The parties interested in watching the match should reach out to Jectan on contact +254 727 382466 in advance to facilitate their access to the stadium.
On press conferences ahead of the match, FKF said it has scheduled open media sessions, in line with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) media guidelines, where journalists will be allowed to have a session with the Kenya team on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10am while Angola’s interview will be on the same day at 3pm. Both sessions will be at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Regarding media accreditation, FKF said Journalists interested in covering the match will be required to present their 2023/24 FKF media accreditation to gain access to the match venue.
“Only accredited photographers shall be allowed pitch side access and shall be required to be appropriately branded in media bibs, photographers shall sit 3 metres away from the touchline,” said the statement.
He also stressed that no movement will be allowed across the touchline while the match is in progress.
The Federation assured members of the public that the match will be aired LIVE on the Harambee Starlets’ social media platforms, https://web.facebook.com/HarambeeStarlets.
Match officials appointed by CAF to take charge of the match include Center Referee, Tsehaynesh Abebe, First Assistant Referee, Yelfashwa Ayele Kassahun , Second Assistant Referee, Wogayehu Zewdu BizuaYehu and fourth official, Raya Sisay, all from Ethiopia, while Somoe Robert Ng'itu from Tanzania will be the Match Commissioner.
