Kenya's ambassador to Qatar dies

By Edith. O. Virginia The head of Kenya's consulate in Qatar,  Ambassador Patrick Paddy Ahenda is dead. The news of his untimely demise was conveyed by his family on Monday, April 4, 2022. Ahenda passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Doha, Qatar after he had suffered a stroke when. The late ambassador also served as the Member of Parliament for Kabondo Kasipul Constituency between 2005 and 2007 following the death of his predecessor Peter Owidi. He was elected on a Liberal Democratic Party ticket. "May uncle’s soul test in eternal peace as we pray for comfort for his wife, Millicent, children, family and Joka Sajni clan in Jesus’ name. Amen,” the ambassador's eldest brother Gabriel Ochanji Ahenda told KBC. Members of the public and leaders alike have since joined in to comfort the envoy's family during this trying time. "News of the demise of Kenyas Ambassador to Qatar Amb. Paddy Ahenda is devastating. The former MP for Kasipul Kabondo who has been on a tour of duty in the Middle East country unfortunately succumbed to heat stroke. Condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Amb. Ahenda," Industrialisation, Trade and Enterprise development CAS David Osiany consoled. "Our heartfelt condolences to the Family of Former Kasipul Kabondo MP and Kenyas Ambassador to Qatar Paddy Ahenda who succumbed to heat stroke," Brand Kenya tweeted.
