Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa yesterday led his executive team in an engagement with Khwisero residents during the sub-county’s stakeholder meeting held at Shiongo Catholic Church grounds.
The County government outlined the projects it had undertaken in the area at the event also attended by the area MP Christopher Aseka and a host of local MCAs led by Kisa Handman Saya.
The governor said that this financial year, his government has committed to improving road infrastructure and upscaling health care services through drug distribution.
“We will also complete health facilities, promote agriculture and address other crucial aspects of development,” he said.
He said Khwisero was moving towards becoming the first sub-county with two level-4 hospitals.
“We have a series of infrastructure projects in the pipeline that will greatly benefit the residents and my sixth pillar on good governance places a strong emphasis on transparency,” he said.
During the question-and-answer session, several chief officers were put on the spot by the residents on lopsided development.
The MP said his goal was to support the county government of Kakamega in its plans to set up infrastructural development initiatives within Khwisero Sub County.
During public participation, he said that the county government has agreed to tarmac Emako-Ekonjero-Munjiti Road and the completion of the Misango water project.
“We are in great need of developmental projects and service delivery to our people. We need to expand the scope of service in health care,” he said.
