Kisii ‘killer gang’ appears Ogembo Law court

A Kisii court has granted the police more time to detain five suspects to finalize investigations into a robbery in which four people were killed after at least twenty people armed with crude weapons invaded a home in Nyamache area Kisii county.

Principal Magistrate Calestous Sindani Nambafu while granting the prosecution plea for more time said the case was scheduled to be mentioned again on May 28th.

The five suspects however denied the charges including the killing and vandalizing of the private property during the raid in which they reportedly overran the security details at the premises before committing the killings with impunity.

The gang of 20 had forcefully accessed the home of David Mugire killing four out of the six home workers who were present at the time, they overpowered police officers and went on a rampage, vandalizing the house, something that shocked the residents of Nyamache, Kisii County.

The investigating Officer Japheth Musini from Nyamache in Kisii appearing before the court, asked for three days to examine the mental status of the suspects and consolidate witnesses for the case. He also revealed that only five of the suspects have been arrested, with others still at large.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, and many are calling for justice for the victims and their families. The police have promised to do everything in their power to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.

As the investigation continues, the community is left to grapple with the aftermath of this senseless act of violence, and the families of the victims are left to mourn the loss of their loved ones.
