Kisumu youth appeal for peace irrespective of Azimio, Kenya Kwanza dialogue outcome

Youth in Kisumu are looking forward to fruitful talks between the Kenya Kwanza and Azimio.

The talks spearheaded by Kalonzo Musyoka and Kimani Ichung’wah are expected to ensure long lasting peace, bringing a permanent end to anti-government protests which have rocked the country for the better part of this year.

Addressing the press in Kisumu on Thursday during youth training on how to access various government funds, Cedric Mike Otieno, Kisumu youth leader said both parties should accept outcome of the talks, and move on.

“I am pleading that let dialogue be the end game so that we can move on with nation building,” said Otieno.

He said members of the Azimio side of the political divide should not call for another round of demos, in case the talks fail to end in their favour.

The Azimio, Kenya Kwanza talks will officially start on Monday next week, after holding of the first meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

On her part, Felistus Musembi urged youth to access various funds provided by the government for economic sustainability.

The funds include hustler, women enterprise and youth enterprise development.

“My appeal to youth across the country is that we talk to others especially in grassroots areas so that we support this administration. Let us come out and access these funds for economic sustainability.”

Leonard Ochieng, Kisumu youth enterprise development fund officer called on young people to organize themselves in groups, for effective uptake of the funds.

“My appeal to you is that you make use of the existing opportunities on financial empowerment. Get organized into groups so that the impact can be felt across the county.”

He said compared to previous years; young people are coming out in numbers to access government funds.
