Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has accused Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi for 'pushing' an agenda of Kisumu not being safe for investment.
Addressing members of the press in Kisumu on Monday, Nyong'o said Mudavadi's assertion that the Lakeside City is not safe for investment, owing to disruptive demos witnessed weeks ago is out of order.
The County boss said the Prime CS is a land owner and an investor in Kisumu, adding that he has never recieved complaints from him concerning the security of his investments.
"The issue of Kisumu being unsafe is propaganda advanced by those gealous of our progress," he said.
Nyong'o said instead of focussing on Kisumu so much, Mudavadi should concentrate on fighting for interests of his community in the Kenya Kwanza administration.
"When you hear Mudavadi who is always very silent speak, it means there is a boil that must be dealt with in the early stages," added the second term County boss.
Kisumu attracted headlines during Azimio La Umoja One Kenya protests last month, with looting, violence and deaths characterizing the 'otherwise peaceful demos' called to push for lowering of the cost of living among other demands.
The Governor said they are faithful to Azimio leader Raila Odinga, adding that they will head back to the streets should the opposition leader call for another round of demos.
He was accompanied by members of the Kisumu County business community, led by Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) chairman Israel Agina.
Agina said they have not received any complaints from Mudavadi, adding that whatever he said was pure politics.
Kisumu Central MP Joshua Oron on his part said it was wrong for the Prime CS to continue making money in the City, while at the same time condemning it.
