600 students benefit from a foundation

Some 600 high school students from Tharaka Nithi County have received metal boxes from Hassan Kithinji Foundation, founded by a former Maara constituency parliamentary aspirant.

Speaking in Maara Constituency, Kithinji said he established the Foundation to alleviate financial burdens faced by parents during transitioning of their children from primary to secondary school.

 He said the program offers support to students who score above 300 marks during their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.

However, Kithinji was quick to urge even those who score less than 300 marks not lose hope in their quest for education.

 The aspirant appealed to fellow leaders and other well-wishers to chip in and support more children, especially those from the less privileged backgrounds.

Kithinji further advised parents to continue counselling students who join high schools, so as not to fall into peer pressure and indulge in immoral behaviors.

He further advised the beneficiary students to concentrate on their studies for a better future.

On Form-four leavers who did not meet the university entry requirements, Kithinji urged them to consider Technical and vocational training.

He said, “We can’t all be doctors, some could become skilled workers in carpentry, construction and electrical, among other fields.”
