Three including police officer arrested in drug trafficking syndicate

Three suspects including a police officer have been arrested while trafficking 10 bales of cannabis in two vehicles along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
Wycliffe Omwenga Mokaya, 30, Allan Machogu Nyarundia, 25 and police constable Kebeno Aminga Duke (a GSU officer stationed in Mombasa) were arrested at Karai area of Naivasha.
The three were intercepted in their drives registered Toyota Noah Reg No. KDB 190A and Toyota Fielder Reg No. KDL 731V.
According to the DCI, the Anti-Narcotics officers acted on a tip-off leading to the operation which seizing the drugs weighing 50kg that were concealed in gunny bags.
The suspects have since been placed under custody at Muthaiga Police Station and the vehicles detained at DCI Headquarters.
Crackdown on drug trafficking has intensified as the illegal activity has grown rampant across the county. The DCI has been on the radar to scale down the sale of contraband drugs.
