KNEC assures of Exams security

The Chief Executive officer of the Kenya National Examinations Council, Dr. David Njegere has assured Kenyans and the candidates sitting for national examination that their papers were secured.

The KNEC Chief Executive Officer speaking at Athi river Primary on Friday, where he had gone to witness the rehearsals for the 2023 Kenya Primary School education assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Primary education (KCPE), said that no one has access to the examination papers.

“We want to assure the students that the examinations in the 572 containers across the country are secure and nobody has access to those papers,” said Dr. Njegere.

“Anyone lying to you that they can give you the papers before the day of the exam are fraudsters,” added the CEO.

He urged the candidates to do their part and be ready for the exams because the examination council is very fair and they ought to get the results they deserve.

Njegere went on to add that the rehearsals are taking place across the country ahead of the KPSEA/KCPE Examinations which are to start on Monday 30th of October and there is nothing to worry about.

He further noted that they have put contingency plans in place in case there will be El Nino rains and they are well prepared across the country to ensure there are no distractions and exams are delivered to every centre.

The CEO pointed out that they have put strategies in place since they work with a multi-agency approach with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of ICT and Ministry of Education.

“Ministry of Interior will ensure No student will miss out on the exams because of insecurity,” assured the KNEC.
