Moses Kuria, Senator Sifuna cry foul after missing national honours Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Public Service Moses Kuria led a group of politicians in expressing their displeasure after missing out on national honours, during Jamhuri Day celebrations on Tuesday.
President William Ruto conferred national honours upon various government leaders, and politicians, including Cabinet Secretaries, Members of Parliament (MPs) and Senators among others, but Kuria's name was missing.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and his Narok counterpart Ledama Olekina were also missing from the list, and they are not keeping silent about it.
On his Twitter account, the vocal CS attached a list of those who had been conferred with the honours ranging from Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H) and Order of the Golden Heart (M.G.H.), accompanying it with a cryptic message.
"We shall be there no matter what," wrote the CS. "Yes we shall.....they can even paste on their faces it won’t mean a thing … actions and deeds honor you not some stupid skewed process," said Ole Kina.
Senator Sifuna wrote. "I respect Ruto’s decision denying me the national honors I had been nominated for. I always suspected the disdain was mutual. I thank Parliament for the nomination though. And to all those who made it to the list, congratulations!"
Those who recieved the honours include: Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary (CS) Davis Chirchir, Soipan Tuya (Environment), Peninah Malonza (EAC), Ezekiel Machogu (Education), Eliud Owalo (ICT), Zachariah Njeru (Water), Rebecca Miano (Trade), Mithika Linturi (Agriculture) and Susan Nakhumicha (Health).
Others are Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Governors Wavinya Ndeti (Machakos), Jonathan Bii (Uasin Gishu), Hassan Abdi Ibrahim (Isiolo), Susan Kihika (Nakuru), Khalif Mohamed Adan (Mombasa), Johnson Sakaja (Nairobi), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay), Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu), Cecily Mbarire (Embu) and Mohamud Mohammed (Marsabit).
