Manchester United exited the UEFA Champions League, finishing bottom of Group A with just one win, a draw and four losses to their name after a 1-0 defeat to group winners Bayern Munich on Tuesday at Old Trafford.

United also became the first English Premier league side to concead 15 goals in the UEFA champions league group stages whilst this campaign marking the second time united has been knocked out last in thr group stages after having finished last in the 2005 campaign. 

Both United and Bayern went into the game nursing defeats in their respective previous league matches with the Visitors coming from a 5-1 thrashing in the hands of Frankfurt while united lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at Home. However a victory in this match was more compelling to united since it could be a decider in their qualification hopes with Bayern Having sealed an early qualification. 

The first half saw United working more defensively trying to prevent damages from their rapidly attacking visitors. 

An effort from Luke Shaw was the best the hosts could launch before the break with Teh Hag forced to call off Harry Maguire before the interval.

United kept their sleeves high trying to search for a lead for redemption, However a fierce Bayern was too strong to maintain eventually finding an opener through Kingsley Coman, who finished clinically after latching onto Kane’s delicate pass into the box.

At the end it was United who had to endure the pain as Copenhagen's 1-0 Victory against Galatasaray in another fixture sealed United's elimination from the competition. 

The defeat also ended United's impressive Unbeaten form against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford as they had previously won 8 fixtures drawing three against the German giants at home ground. 

Meanwhile, the German giants extend their undefeated run in the group stages to 4p having won 36 fixtures and drawing on four. 

In other results, newly crowned African player of the Year Victor Ohsimen scored to help Napoli advance to the Knockout stages with a 2-0 win over Braga while Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by PSV although both teams advanced to the Knockouts. 

Seville were forced out of the competition with a 2-1 defeat against Lens as Real Madrid completed a 100% winning record in their group with a 3-2 win over Union Berlin .Inter Milan and Sociedad failed to score past each other in a goalless draw as Benfica forced their entry into the Europa League with a 3-1 win over Salzburg.
