Lewis Hamilton bounced back to winning ways in a triumphant victory at the British Grand Prix to claim a record ninth win at Silverstone and end a 56 race winless spell.
Hamilton held on to pressure from a pressing Max Verstappen who had overtaken Lando Norris at the last lap.
Hamilton had won his last race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2021 with Red Bull's Verstappen dominating races since then.
The record-extending 104th grand prix victory of Hamilton's career saw him become the first Formula 1 driver to win the same race nine times, extending a record he had previously shared with Michael Schumacher. He also extended a record run for podiums at the same race to 12.
It was a perfect way for the seven time world champion to seal his feat with Mercedes as he looks to sing with Ferrari next year.
"This is my last race here at the British Grand Prix with this team. I wanted to win this so much for them because I love them and appreciate them so much." Hamilton said.
"All the hard work they put in over these years. I'm forever grateful to everyone at Mercedes and all our partners. And to all our incredible fans. I could see you lap by lap. There's no greater feeling to finish at the front here." He added.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull settled for Second as Lando Norris of McLaren finished third ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri.
Ferrari's Carlos Sainz took fifth ahead of Haas's Nico Hulkenberg while Aston Martin's Lance Stroll took the seventh spot ahead of teammate Fernando Alonso, Williams's Alex Albon and RB's Yuki Tsunoda finished the last two spots.
