2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) Candidates especially those who recorded high marks have something to smile about after the ministry of education announced the new form one selection formula.
According to Education Cabinet Secretary, prof. George Magoha, the new formula will see that the candidates are placed in schools of their choice which he said will be fair to all pupils.
According to the Education CS, affirmative action will be applied to ensure all national schools in the country have a national outlook in terms of representation.

Magoha said the new method will see all top students from all over the country picked in a group before being placed in various national schools.
He stated that the new formula is key to attaining the national outlook in the education sector as well as giving equal treatment to all Kenyan children.
"We shall ensure that all Kenyan children are given equal, fair, and just treatment including those from the slums and those from Arid and semi-arid areas. We have to ensure there is affirmative action based on geographical locations in this country.
"We will take the marks of all children, then we will get the best from all those counties and place them to different national schools distributed across the nation," Magoha stated.
Magoha further said that parents will know the outcome of their children in the next two weeks though he said that some students will miss the chance to join national schools because of selecting schools from only one category since students are supposed to select high schools from district, county, extra county, and national schools level.
However, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) assured parents that all the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education candidates will be admitted to high schools.
