Police officers in Kakemer village, Busia County have launched a manhunt for a man who is believed to have killed his neighbour.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says the man identified as Robert Amukule killed his neighbour, Fabian Omanyala using an object that hit him on his head.
A statement from DCI posted on their official Twitter handle notes that the deceased had been involved in a domestic feud with his wife who sought refuge from the neighbour.

The man however followed his wife to the neighbour’s house, forcing the suspect who is now on the run to come to the rescue of the woman.
He hit him on his forehead with an object the police are yet to identify, which killed him on the spot.
“What started as a domestic feud quickly degenerated to a torrent of blows and kicks from Fabian Omanyala, as he assaulted his 53-year-old wife at their home in Kakemer location, Busia county. After she could no longer bear the battering, she sought refuge at Robert Amukule’s homestead but the unrelenting husband followed her, baying for her blood,” DCI said.
“Amukule quickly came to the aid of the woman by launching a projectile from a catapult, that killed Omanyala on the spot. The killer object which could not be immediately identified, hit the deceased on the forehead sending him sprawling on the ground,” the police added.
Efforts by well-wishers who heard the commotion to rush the deceased to nearby Korosiendet dispensary for medical attention turned futile, after Omanyala was pronounced dead on arrival.
The cause of the fatal fight between the two married couples has not yet been known.
DCI, in their statement o Twitter, says Amukule immediately went into hiding and a manhunt for him has been launched by the Teso-based police officers.
