Man murders his younger brother after a fight

Police at Olmekenyu in Narok South Sub County are investigating an incident where a man murdered his younger brother on Monday night.

Narok County Police Commander John Kizito said the two brothers, namely Victor Rono, 17 and Gideon Rono, 22 picked up a fight while at their home.

Kizito said the older brother picked up a rungu and hit his younger brother on the head which left him unconscious.

He was rushed to Longisa Hospital in Bomet county where he was undergoing treatment until he passed on early in the morning. His body is preserved in the same hospital’s mortuary.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s brother, who is suspected to have committed the heinous act is held at the Ololulunga police station awaiting to be arraigned in court.

“The suspect had attempted to escape but was nabbed by the police with assistance from the members of the public. He will be arraigned in court and charged with murder,” he said.

The police commander has since called on the members of the public to seek better avenues of settling their differences instead of committing such capital crimes that will ruin their life.
