Manchester United progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup as they striked Newport County 4-2 at Rodney Parade on Sunday.

The action saw Marcus Rashford out of the squad and bench following his reported night club indiscretions prior to the match day.

United started on a high as Antony served Bruno Fernandes on the edge of the box, allowing the visiting captain to drive home into the near corner to score for a third consecutive FA Cup outing.

Minutes later, Diogo Dalot cutback to find teenage Kobbie Mainoo, who expertly swept into the far corner for his first United goal of the club.

United kept dominating as Chances a strike from Alejandro Garnacho went against the bar while Antony's effort was blocked.

Newport stricked one back a Morris’ sweetly struck volley took a deflection on its way past debuting goalkeeper Altay Bayındır to give the hosts a consolation.

Two minutes into the second half, Adam Lewis’ cross was met by top scorer Will Evans to stun United with an equalizer bringing Newport back to the game.

Manchester United eventually restored their lead as Luke Shaw’s curling right-footed effort came back off the post, and Antony reacted smartly to steer home the rebound and score for the first time since last April.

Rasmus Hojlund put the last nail on the coffin in stoppage time as he slammed home a rebound to ensure the 12 time champions booked their place in the fifth round, where they’ll visit either Bristol City or Nottingham Forest.
