Mandera County Initiates Ten-Day Community Engagement to address Local Needs

 Mandera County has launched a ten-day tour named 'Meet the People Tour' with the aim of actively involving the community in identifying needs, gaps, and challenges across all sub-counties.

The initiative commenced in Mandera West Takaba on Wednesday, involving extensive discussions with diverse community groups, including elders, women, and youth.

The dialogues focused on understanding community needs and developing strategies to address them.

During these discussions, various concerns were raised by the community, ranging from security issues to devolving national offices such as the Birth Registrar’s office, and the pervasive insecurity in the region.

Mandera Governor Mohamed Khalif reassured the residents of Takaba that service delivery would be brought closer to the people.

He also committed to collaborating with local Members of Parliament to ensure that all community needs are met.

 Regarding security concerns, the governor emphasized the importance of community involvement by advocating for homegrown solutions, and encouraging residents to work collaboratively with security agencies.

Mandera County Commissioner, Amos Mariba, urged residents to provide vital information, emphasizing that such a collective effort would place Mandera at the forefront of development.
