Mother Pleads guilty over attempt to kill child

Faith Chepkirui will spend 14 more days in Narok police custody awaiting the court’s ruling after she pleaded guilty to attempting to kill her 3-year-old child.

 Chepkirui is being accused of throwing the minor into a pit latrine on 15th November 2022 at Chesikei village, Narok South sub-county.

The accused informed her friend of the incident who screamed alerting the members of the public who managed to rescue the baby from the pit latrine.

Appearing before Narok Law Courts, Chief Magistrate, Hezron Nyamberi, the accused pleaded guilty to the charges.

The accused pleaded with the court to be released because the cause of the incident is due to family stress.

Nyamberi ordered the accused to remain in police custody for 14 days as the court prepares for its ruling on 23 November 2023.
