Seven Members of Parliament have condemned the current senseless killing of women and girls by rogue men.

Led by Molo MP Kimani Kuria, legislators Joseph Makilap (Baringo North), Dr John Ariko Namoit (Turkana South), Paul Biego (Chesumei), Joseph Oyula (Butula) and David Mboni (Kitui rural) described the alarming killings as inhuman, barbaric and primitive.

They called on the government to institute punitive punishment on the perpetrators of the heinous acts to save the innocent women and girls.

Kuria who is the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Finance, National Planning and Housing and other members were reacting to the latest reports where the body of a woman was discovered lying in a thicket in Kiganjo, Gatundu South over the weekend with her left breast cut off.

The Molo legislator urged the country’s security agencies and courts to spare no effort in dealing ruthlessly with the criminals who lure victims using money or drugs.

He added that the move would put to a stop the killings of the victims which is becoming almost a daily occurrence.

“It is insane, uncultured, satanic and barbaric whatever it is, it needs to stop,” the vocal MP said.

Kuria who spoke to the press after chairing the countrywide public participation forum on affordable housing bill at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Baringo Campus stated that in the past, men were the ones protecting women.

“Even during wars or in the holy books like the Koran and the Bible, women were respected,” he explained.

Kuria, while calling on men to protect the lives of women and children, advised those who felt aggrieved in relationships to quit peacefully instead of harming the other party.
