Her Excellency Tamara Vučić, the First Lady of the Republic of Serbia, was received in great company by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi of Kenya, who was officiating her visit to the country on her special mission of cooperation and engagement.

The conversation between the two leaders emphasized many years of partnership between Kenya and Serbia, while underlining new avenues to deepen their bilateral ties.

Mudavadi expressed his honor for receiving the Serbian First Lady through his verified social media handles.

The meeting, he added, was "highly constructive," because the dialogue focused on deepening the already strong diplomatic relations that have grown over time between the two countries.

He added, "Our discussions were highly constructive, geared towards advancing the longstanding and fruitful bilateral relations which exist between Kenya and Serbia," therefore underlining a very strong foundation between the countries.

Perhaps the most telling outcome of this meeting was the solidarity expressed by Serbia with Kenya in efforts it is making to regain its footing following the ravaging floods in most parts of the country.

The Government of Serbia will contribute an additional 150,000 Euros to the Emergency Fund towards continued relief efforts and rehabilitation of the communities affected.

Mudavadi added that this was a timely gesture and wanted to note that the Government truly appreciates the support from Serbia during these trying times.

It is in this view that Mudavadi wrote: "The Serbian government's donation of 150,000 Euros will go a long way in the ongoing relief efforts and rehabilitation of affected communities."

The talks also discussed future cooperation in areas such as trade, education, and information and communication technology.

Both Kenya and Serbia recognize the need for sustained strengthening of relations in areas of mutual interest.

Mudavadi said Kenya is committed to ensuring that this momentum is taken forward, especially in sectors key to the development goals of the two countries.

"Going forward, Kenya is committed to strengthening the bonds of collaboration between our two countries, especially in matters of mutual interest such as trade, education, ICT, and more," Mudavadi said, giving a bright prospect for the future of Kenya-Serbia relations.

A visit by H.E. Tamara Vučić accompanied by discussions marked an important step to strengthen relations between Kenya and Serbia, two countries that have enjoyed good relations over many years and are now seeking to deepen it even further.
