Nakuru Police Arrest 16 Members of Criminal Gangs

Security agents in Nakuru are holding 16 members of criminal gangs, suspected to be behind a spate of killing.
County Police Commandant Samuel Ndanyi has confirmed that the 16 suspected criminals had been arrested in various places within Nakuru City and Rhonda estate and had been detained at Central Police Station.
The police also recovered fake guns, knives, and other crude weapons from the suspects, who have caused the city residents sleepless nights.
“We have been conducting operations but yesterday (Monday)we managed to arrest 16 criminals, who will be arraigned in court tomorrow (Wednesday)to answer to various charges,” said Ndanyi, noting that the suspects were also arrested in possession of bhang and guns.
Ndanyi lauded the residents for their quick response and sharing of information with the police that helped in the arrests, urging them to remain calm as the police stayed alert.
“We are glad that the residents volunteered information to enable the arrest and we assure you of your safety as you go about your daily businesses,” he noted.
He urged the residents of Rhonda estate to share any information with the officers, regretting that fear had kept many silent, while the gangs thrived.
Ndanyi, who promised to work round the clock to ensure the city residents of their safety, was speaking to the media at his Nakuru office.
