The names of all Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) were removed from the State House website, moments after President Wiliam dismissed the Cabinet to pave the way for the formation of a broad-based government.

A fresh look at the website - president.go.ke, reveals that the only names remaining are those of the President, his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Mercy Wanjau, Secretary to the Cabinet.

Speaking while dismissing the Cabinet, Ruto said he will consult different sectors and political formations to identify those who will assist him in accelerating Kenya’s transformation.

"I have decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General of the Cabinet of Kenya except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs and of course, the Office of the Deputy President is not affected in any way."

“I will immediately engage in extensive consultation across different sectors and political formations and other Kenyans both in the public and private sector with the aim of setting up a broad-based government that will assist me in accelerating and expediting the necessary, urgent and irreversible implementation of the program that we have including other radical measures to deal with the burden of debt, to explore ways raising resources, expanding job opportunities, eliminating wastage and slaying the dragon of corruption,” he said.

During the process, he said, the operations of government will continue uninterrupted under the guidance of Principal Secretaries and other relevant officials.

He pointed out that the government has made significant progress in the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda in the past 22 months.

“Even with the progress we have made, I am acutely aware that the people of Kenya have high expectations of me and believe that this administration can undertake the most extensive transformation in our nation’s history,” he noted.

It is not clear when he will name members of the new cabinet.
