New IG transfers police officers from Kware Station amidst investigation

Acting Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja on Sunday July 14, transferred all police officers at Kware Station giving room for more investigation.

Speaking to the press, the polive IG stated that the transfer is meant to provide conducive and uninterrupted environment and ample time for the investigators.

IG Kanja argued that the decision of ceding of police officers will enhance the preparation of investigation report that is free of bias, fair and transparent. 

He further assured Kenyans that the investigation officers are committed to unveiling truth and taking action to the responsible ones. 

"To ensure fair and unbiased investigations, I have moved the officers from Kware Police Station. In this difficult time, we stand with the community and we remain committed to uncovering the truth and bringing those responsible to justice," said Kanja.

IG said the investigation team has collaborated with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) to ensure the operation is completed within 21 days.

" The police service and I would like to assure the public that we are committed to conducting transparent, thorough and swift investigation," he said.

So far, at least 14 bodies have been recovered from Mukuru.
