Nation mourns the passing of former Kimilili MP

Political camps are mourning the death of Hon. Suleiman Murunga, the immediate former MP for Kimilili Constituency, whose death was announced in the early part of the day.
His demise has been overtaken by a flood of warm tributes from several individuals, including major political players like Musalia Mudavadi, who said he felt great pain over the loss.
Mudavadi termed Murunga "a selfless and committed leader" in his statement to the press, whose service to the community was immense.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hon. Suleiman Murunga. He served with dedication as the Member of Parliament for Kimilili Constituency from 2013 to 2017," said Mudavadi.
During his time in service, Murunga was known for community-oriented projects that included education and health, infrastructural development being at the core.
His leadership style adopted an open-door policy where the constituents were at will presenting their problems and grievances to him directly.
This all-inclusive approach saw him command respect; consequently, he bonded with the people of Kimilili.
This has brought an avalanche of tributes on social media and public forums on his death.
A number of his constituents and colleagues shared anecdotes to showcase Murunga's commitment to public service, his burning passion to uplift the lives around him.
"Hon. Murunga was not just a politician; he was a friend to many," another local resident said. "His dedication and kindness will be sorely missed.
During his tribute, Mudavadi also condoled with Murunga's family and friends: "May the Lord grant comfort, peace, and strength to his family, friends, and all those mourning this profound loss."
His statement articulated what many Kenyans have gone through regarding Murunga's leadership.
The legacies of Hon. Suleiman Murunga will no doubt remain with mankind as an example of selfless and committed public service to humanity.
