New Mukuyuni Business centre to boost trade

Traders and vendors in Mukuyuni town, in Makueni will benefit from a newly commissioned Mukuyuni modern mixed use market.

The business centre has 132 vendor stalls with an aggregation centre that is expected to boost trade and horticulture farming in the area.

The flagship project of Wote Municipality through the support of the World Bank was commissioned on Thursday evening by Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.

Mutula urged the traders to take care of the project adding that they will officially open a stock yard market in the area to benefit livestock businessmen.

The modern market has solar-powered lighting, lactation room for mothers, cold rooms for storage, and rainwater harvesting and waste management systems to conserve the environment.

It has an aggregation centre that will empower the local community by providing job opportunities, nurturing entrepreneurship, and promoting local products.
