New Murang’a chief officers to take office after approval

All the 14 nominated persons to take up positions of Chief officers in Murang’a county have been approved by the local County Assembly.

The approval comes after a rigorous vetting exercise conducted by various committees of the county assembly over a period of two weeks.

The chairpersons of the committees on Tuesday presented names of the nominees they vetted before the assembly for approval.

The MCAs unanimously approved the nominees who were brought for vetting by Governor Dr. Irungu Kang’ata.

The newly approved chief officers include; Leonard Guchu Ndungu (Communication and Media), Maxwell Fredrick Wambugu (Roads and Housing), Judy Njeri Mbaru (Revenue and Supply Chain Management), Samuel Murigi Mungai (Youth Affairs and Sports), Angela Mueni Kioko (Culture, Gender and Social Services), Eliud Maina Wanja (Infrastructure and Community Projects), Bridget Wairimu Irungu (Water, Irrigation, Environment and Climate Change).

Others are, Edward Irungu Mwangi (Public Service and Administration), Kenneth Mukora Kihato (Medical Services), Josephine Wanjiru Wanjiku (Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development), Dr. Apollo Kamau Maina (Agriculture, Livestock and Veterinary Services) Isaac Wanjohi Karoga (Education and Technical Training), Meshak Kipkorir Kipkemboi (ICT and e- government) and Hassan Abdullahi Abdirahman (Governor’s delivery unit).

This will bring to an end the tenure of chief officers of the previous regime who have been serving in the current administration.

Meanwhile, the assembly also approved the appointment of James Kamau Thuku as the County Attorney.
