Kisumu governor Anyang' Nyong'o on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, witnessed the swearing-in of Ms Farida Ahmed Salim as the new County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for roads, transport and public works, warning her that there will be no time for honeymoon.
"I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms Salim but caution her that there will be no time for a honeymoon. Work starts now because a full tray awaits you in the office," said the first-term county boss.
She takes over from Joyce Osogo, who resigned to join politics.

"I settled on Ms Salim to manage this very important and sensitive department after careful consultations and scrutiny of her background and leadership qualities. I want to report here that she fits the bill," said Nyong'o.
He said her appointment is in keeping his administration's gender policy of inclusivity. "Women must also play an important role in this government."
Ms Salim is an educationist (former lecturer at the Kisumu National Polytechnic), gender campaigner, civic rights crusader and former nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA), in Kisumu.
Nyong'o plucked her from the Kisumu City Board, where she was serving as a member.
According to the governor, the new CECM has a lot of work already cut out for her, in providing quality service to the people of Kisumu County.
"You are coming at a time the County Government is implementing several infrastructure projects and I expect you to provide policy guidelines and good leadership to help us deliver on the promises we made on roads, transport, and Public works."
