Bombaba Borabu Member of County Assembly (MCA) aspirant in Nyamira County was killed in his house by an unknown gang on Monday morning April 4, 2022.
Thomas Okari, who is also a businessman based in Nairobi, succumbed to injuries he sustained following a late-night attack in his house by unidentified men.
According to a family member, Thomas Okari who is also a business man based in Nairobi, travelled from Nairobi to his rural home on Sunday evening for the preparations of nominations scheduled for Thursday, April 7.

According to his relative, after his arrival, the aspiring MCA went to his room to rest. Shortly after, his nephew, who was in the house, was awakened by the calls for help from his uncle who was being attacked by the armed men.
He was struck on his head using a panga before the attackers escaped through the back door. He was rushed to a local hospital in Kisii but unfortunately he later lost his life due to the injuries.
In a statement posted on his managed social media account, Okari said "I was attacked this morning by unknown people who were after my life. Even in the hospital bed, the spirit of serving my people is unhurt," read the statement
His family has called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to conduct thorough investigations in to the matter and bring the culprits into the book. The family further linked the attack to political reasons.
"It is a huge loss for the community. We call upon the DCI and Office of the DPP to conduct thorough investigations into this criminal act. Our sincere condolences to Dennis Ontweka and the family for the loss of your beloved brother," Jared Gekombe wrote.
The late was described as the great leader who had vision for the people of Bombaba Borabu.
