Commonwealth champion Ferdinand Omanyala bounced back to winning ways with a comfortable victory in the men's 100m at the Boris Hanzekovic Memorial in Zagreb on Sunday (10 September).
Omanyala clocked 9.94 to beat Jamaica's Oblique Seville who came second in 10.07 with Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs coming third in 10.08 seconds.
The Kenyan was in control from halfway and gathered pace towards the finish line to regain victory after a disappointing performance in during last month's worlds Athletics championships in where he finished a distant seventh in the 100M clocking 10.07 seconds and is heading to the Diamond League final in Eugene, USA, hoping to finish the season on a high.
World sprint relay gold medallist Brandon Carnes was fourth in 10.27 with Japan's Abdul Hakim Sani Brown fifth in 10.29.
The Kenyan sprint star is coming off two second-place finishes in the World Athletics Continental Silver Tour in Switzerland and Italy. He clocked 10.04 seconds in Switzerland and 10.15 in Italy. He lost both races to Seville.
Omanyala won his first diamond league medal in Monaco also boasting a personal best of 9.77 seconds which is the 9th best of all time.
Omanyala now shifts focus to next week's Diamond League final in Eugene, USA, hoping to finish the season on a high.
