KCB retain National sevens Circuit at the Kabeberi sevens

KCB rugby club are the 2023 National circuit Sevens champions after their closest rivals Kabras sugar lost to Menengai Oilers in the quarter finals at the last leg of the Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi on Sunday.
KCB still took their chances by seeing off Mwamba 33-7 in the other set of the quarter finals.
Kabras headed into the second day of the season-ending tournament with a one-point lead over KCB, having accumulated 92 to the bankers’ 91, before Kabeberi.
They needed to finish ahead of KCB in the knockout stages to cut their thirst for a National title in Six year but as things turned out they lost 12 - 5 to menengai Oilers with KCB heading into the Semis with a win over the Western millers.
KCB, the winners of the Dala Sevens and the christie Sevens will now face Tisap Sevens champions Nondescripts in the Semi-finals at the Kabeberi Finals.
Its KCB's fourth circuit crown after previous victories in 2013,2014 and 2019.
Nondies Once again beat Strathmore leos 7-5 in a repeat of the Tisap Sevens final to storm the semifinals while Menengai Oilers are up against fellow great Rift side Nakuru in the other semi.
Nakuru stopped Kenya Heralquin 17-12 in the quarters.
KCB will now succeed Oilers as the National Sevens Circuit champions.
KCB topped the series standings with 113 points followed by Kabras with 104 with Strathmore, Oilers and Mwamba closing the five best with 95,88 and 79 respectively.
Kenya Herlaquins finished sixth with 76 Nakuru coming seventh with 68.
Nondescripts, Homeboy and Kisumu seal the bottom log with 65,39 and 33 respectively.
