Opposition leaders unite for bipartisan talks to address national challenges

Opposition leaders led by Eugene Wamalwa, have announced their resolve to engage in bipartisan talks aimed at tackling critical issues facing the country, saying that these discussions transcend personal interests and focus on addressing pressing concerns that directly impact the lives of Kenyan citizens.

Addressing a gathered crowd at a funeral at Kitutu Chache in Kisii County, Wamalwa expressed their dedication to working collaboratively with the government to find solutions to the challenges that have burdened the nation.

“Paramount among these challenges is the soaring cost of living, escalating fuel prices, and the distressing hike in food prices and our shared objective is to alleviate the daily hardships faced by ordinary Kenyans,” he said.

"We stand united today, not as individuals with partisan affiliations, but as representatives of the Kenyan people who are yearning for change and a better quality of life. Our aim is to engage in constructive dialogue with the government, focusing solely on the well-being of our citizens," Wamalwa added.

He said that the time has come for Kenyans to set aside divisions and unite for the common good, adding that the nation's prosperity and progress can only be achieved through collaboration and a shared vision for a better future.

Speaking at the same occasion, Former Murang’a Governor Mr. Mwangi Wa Iria called upon every Kenyan to join in the collective effort. “Our diversity is our strength, and by coming together, we can steer this nation towards prosperity and address the challenges that have hindered our growth," he added.

The leaders extended their condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones during past demonstrations in the country. They acknowledged the pain and suffering experienced by these families and pledged to work towards a more inclusive and peaceful approach to addressing grievances.

Also present was Presidential Candidate Prof George Wajackoyah.
