Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi now threatens to expose what he terms the actual truth behind accusations recently made by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of being frozen out by the Head of State, President William Ruto.

In a statement posted on his verified social media accounts, Sudi did not mince his words, calling Gachagua one given to self-claims, further dismissing his assertions as outright lies.

When the real truthful man comes out, the truth will come out, he said. The greatest liars in this world are those men who claim to be truthful men, Sudi wrote in what appeared to be a direct challenge to the DP's narrative.

He added that the true story shall be told, insinuating that speculation over Gachagua's status in government may not be that simple as the Deputy President has made it look.

Of late, Gachagua has been vocal, complaining over what he perceives as his shrinking influence in President Ruto's administration.

A number of times, he has said on many different occasions and on different platforms that his role in government is being gradually marginalised, decisions being more and more made without him.

His deputy president, who has been among the vocal allies of the President since the opposition days, is said to have felt pushed aside for months now, with various reports suggesting the formerly strong partnership between the two leaders could be at an uncomfortable impasse.

Sources close to the President downplayed these claims and maintained the relationship between Ruto and Gachagua was still solid.

They say the Deputy President still plays an important part in the administration, particularly out there, representing the interests of the Mount Kenya region of Kenya.

Meanwhile, President Ruto has, on several occasions, showered Gachagua with public praise, stressing the importance of his contribution to the government.

Sudi's utterances were like adding oil to the fire, insinuating there could be more than what had been heard on the surface.

Since he is close to President Ruto and his DP Gachagua, involvement of Sudi in the matter had been highly scrutinized.

Many now speculate whether the issue might be symptomatic of deeper tensions within the ruling United Democratic Alliance Party, UDA, than what has hit the headlines.

His promise to expose the "truth" now has left political observers guessing whether he would indeed shed new light on the inner dealings of the Ruto administration or this was part of an ongoing power struggle within the top leadership.
