Kenyan RnB singer Jacob Obunga popularly known as Otile Brown on April 14, 2022, released a song titled 'mama' and is currently streaming across all media platforms.
According to reports, the song is a special dedication to his mother whom he wishes could be alive to see just how far he has come in life and how he is doing. In the song, the musician also confesses how he never got a chance to ask for forgiveness from his mother for the mistakes he made during his childhood.
“Sema mami natamani anga mara moja uamke nikuone......Na ina ichoma moyo wangu, ina ikwaza nafsi yangu, maana sikupata muda mama yangu, ya kuomba msahama wa kosa langu," he says.

The song was produced by Neksazy from Tanzania, while its mixing and mastering was done by producer Ihaji.
In the song, Otile speaks of sometimes shutting down the world, locking himself in a room and crying. He also asks himself if his mother would have been proud of the man that he has become.
"Sometimes najifungia chumbani mwenyewe, najiliza kama mtoto! Je unajivunia mimi kua mwanako wewe kwenye dunia yenye changamoto.
"Tena bado nazingatia mafunzo yako, busara, heshima na upole, ingawa binadamu kazi. I miss you, yani leo Zaidi ya jana,” he sayd.
Otile Brown lost his mother when he was 14 years old. He was born on March 21, 1994, and brought up in Mikindani, Mombasa County. He is the last born of three, a sister and a brother. Otile never got to meet his father as they had separated with the mother and the father moved to Kisumu. The singer would then occasionally visit his grandmother in Kisumu.
He began writing music at the age of 13 and has since made a name for himself as one of the most followed and listened-to artistes in Kenya.
The singer received his gold plaque from YouTube an indication that he finally got 1 million subscribers. In celebration he posted a picture with the plaque and captioned it “Look at what y’all did... y’all are some amazing human beings thank you for the 1 million YouTube subs."
The singer also has his own record label which he formed in 2019 dubbed ‘Just in love music'. So far the singer has a total of 3 released albums. The first one was ‘the best of Otile Brown', the second one ‘just in love music’ and the most recent 'uptown flex'.
